In the past weeks we have lab tested several new features that will be implemented in the upcoming release. At the same time, many outstanding issues have been addressed and fixed. [2] Credit feature a success! We have completed research on a credit feature which simplifies tracking of overpayments from patients as well as payers. This feature will address the following issues: - Prepayment by a patient - Overpayment by a patient - Overpayment by an insurance payer - Recapturing by an insurance payer - Applying credits to patient or dependants ---------------------------------------- HOT TIPS AND TRICKS ---------------------------------------- [3] Save data entry time with the duplicate function During a patient visit what is the quickest way to enter multiple Slip items for one patient? The answer lies in the duplicate function. After the first Slip item is complete, simply click on the duplicate button OR use the keyboard shortcut (command-D Mac, CTRL-D Windows). The duplicate function will save the original Slip item, open a new Slip item, and prefill some of the information for the new Slip item! This is especially useful when entering charges from a date previous to the entry date. ---------------------------------------- PRODUCT CHANGES ---------------------------------------- [4] Slip item layout changes In working with many of your staff, we found that two information fields located on the Slip Item are not utilized. For that reason we are considering removing the "Coverage %" and "Co-Pay" fields. Before we complete this change, we encourage any feedback related to these two fields. How will removal of these fields impact your day-to-day operations? [5] Removal of "Transfer" List item To alleviate possible confusion, we are removing a List item called "Transfer." This list item can be found in the popup list for "Payment Type" on the Slip item and Receipt windows. All transfers can be created using the transfer feature in the adjustment window. For that reason, the "transfer" item in the "Payment Type" has been renamed "Transfer From Insurance" and is reserved for Winx Pro use. We encourage your staff to discontinue use of this item immediately. Discontinuing use of this item decreases the need for future data conversion. [6] Accounts Receivable reporting The reports entitled "Accounts Receivable" have created some confusion. A more accurate title would be "Accounts Unpaid" The current reports give a listing of all Slip items that are unpaid. The insurance payer amounts on this report reflect the amount that is billed to insurance, not the expected payment amount. The titles of these reports will be changed in the next version. Reporting is being enhanced to give information related to the overall Accounts Receivable. ---------------------------------------- COMPANY NEWS ---------------------------------------- [7] Winx vs. non-Winx support. During many conversions, the question "What's covered in the maintenance agreement?" was raised. The Winx Pro maintenance agreement provides for FREE upgrades and FREE support related to the Winx Pro system. The FREE support allows you to contact our help desk to ask questions related to the function and use of Winx Pro. Because computer systems are complex and work directly with our software, we have occasionally answered "basic" non-Winx issues at no additional cost. Our staff will continue to do it's best to provide great Winx Pro support. If however, we determine the issue is not Winx Pro related, your staff may be asked whether or not we should continue to troubleshoot the issue at our normal hourly rate. |
